Dreaming New Dreams
Les Brown famously said, “You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.”
I couldn’t agree more.
If you are reading this, it means you are still alive; you are still breathing, you are still here on this planet. And whatever your circumstances might be, you still have so much left to do.
You still have so much left to give.
“But it’s too late for me,” you might be thinking. “It would be silly to go after the dreams of my youth.”
But think about this…
Famed folk artist Grandma Moses didn’t paint her first piece until she was 76. And she only did it because arthritis had made her embroidery work too painful. A paintbrush was easier to hold.
Or how about Laura Ingalls Wilder? The first book from her “The Little House on the Prairie” series was published at 64.
Julia Child didn’t learn to cook until she was in her 40s. Yuichiro Miura summited Everest at age 80. Bo Gilbert was the first 100-year old model to be featured in a famous fashion magazine–Vogue, no less.
The list goes on and on.
The point is, it’s never too late to get unstuck. It’s never too late to find your path. And sometimes, what seems to be a “block” in the road is nothing but a turning point.
I know because that’s exactly what happened to me.
